Celebrate Stonelaw – a weeklong celebration of life at Stonelaw. 1st

Sunday 2nd September
Church lunch was provided by Tuesday Chat group – this was a chance to meet and eat together before setting up the exhibition in the church during the afternoon.
Monday 3rd September
10.30am - 5pm Celebrate Stonelaw Exhibition opened, with the grand opening performed by Rev Tom Morton at
10.30am; church open all day. Tea and coffee served and Fairtrade goods for sale.
8pm Film and Pizza night in the church – we watched “O Brother Where Art Thou?” (Cert 12) and munched some pizza.
Tuesday 4th September
10.30am-5pm Celebrate Stonelaw Exhibition; church was open all day.
Wednesday 5th September
10.30am - 5pm Celebrate Stonelaw Exhibition; church was open all day.
10-11am Prayer meeting in vestry. Prayers for our community.
7pm Organ recital with Bill Hutchison. Classical organ music which inspired
all who attended.
8pm Girls’ night in – a relaxed evening of coffee and chat for women
of all ages in the Session House at the Church.
Thursday 6th September
10.30am - 5pm Celebrate Stonelaw Exhibition; church was open all day. 12 noon Celebration of communion with Dr Alistair May in the church.
8pm Men’s curry night - a relaxed evening with chat over a curry buffet at India Palms, Dukes Rd.
Friday 7th September
10.30am - 5pm Celebrate Stonelaw Exhibition; church was open all day.
7.30pm Charity concert with Piggery Brae - a get together of folk music, humour and patter – a great evening’s entertainment suitable for all. Tea and coffee
was served. Drinks and snacks on sale.
Saturday 8th September
10.30am - 12.30pm Celebration Cafe, a celebration of Stonelaw’s gifts and talents.
10.30am - 5pm Celebrate Stonelaw Exhibition continued in church.
2.30 - 4.30pm Car Treasure Hunt.
5 – 7pm Saturday Funtime – a fun event was held for all ages, with games, food and star turns.
This was a good way to round off the day.
Sunday 9th September
Celebrate Stonelaw Sunday: our special service was followed by barbecue in the church grounds.
