The Meeting Place

The Meeting Place is the name we give to the Stonelaw Road entrance to the church.  This area was once known as the Vestibule and later as the Hall of Fellowship, but it became obvious that we needed a bigger area there to do the things we wanted.  A £60,000 project to extend the area and open up the Sanctuary with a glass wall gave us the space we needed.

On five mornings a week (Monday - Friday), everyone is invited in to the Café @ The Meeting Place; and one of the benefits is that they can see the beauty of our Sanctuary.  On the first Wednesday of the month at 2pm we hold our mid-week service in this space. And Past Times, our Dementia-friendly Community hold events here too. Find out more about Past Times here.‍ ‍

The Meeting Place is our route to the community, and our open front door.  Here, parents, toddlers, old friends, neighbours awaiting a doctor’s appointment, or visitors from the local Care Home, are served by an army of volunteers.  We have regulars and passers-by, and every day our doors are open and our coffee machine and kettle are always on.  And if you pass in an evening, and see lights, you are always welcome.  We are an Open Church.
